Buckeyes can claim District 16-3A title with win over Henderson

EVEN THOUGH the Gilmer Buckeyes have not even clinched a playoff berth yet out of the “District of Doom,” the undefeated and state-ranked team controls its own destiny and can win its 10th district championship in the last 11 seasons with a win over the Henderson Lions here Friday night. 'Pink Out' Friday at Gilmer High School and Buckeye Stadium

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of Mrs. Carrie Henry (wife of Gilmer coach Lonnie Henry) and all who are fighting and surviving against this disease, those in attendance at Friday night’s game between the Gilmer Buckeyes and the Henderson Lions at Buckeye Stadium are encouraged to wear pink. Also, the Gilmer High School Pep Rally Friday afternoon will have a “Pink Out” theme with the GHS Cheerleaders Booster Club selling “Pink Out” T-shirts. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. The Pep Rally begins at 3:15 p.m. at the GHS Gym. There will also be a “Pass the Helmet” going on at the game Friday night to benefit Mrs. Henry.
